Inside the 2026 Southeastern Electric Exchange

The Southeastern Electric Exchange (S.E.E.) Annual Conference & Trade Show brings together utility leaders nationwide to discuss the challenges, opportunities, and innovations shaping the electric utility industry’s future. This year’s conference, held at the Gaylord Texan Resort in Grapevine, Texas, welcomed more than 2,000 executives, operations leaders, engineers, and industry partners committed to advancing reliability, safety, and operational excellence. 

Representatives from Xylem Tree Experts, Kendall Vegetation Services, Canopy Infrastructure Solutions, and River City Construction spent the week meeting with current customers, building new relationships, and discussing the comprehensive services and expertise available across the XKIG family of companies. As a proud sponsor and exhibitor, we were honored to be part of those conversations. 

Across every conversation — from keynote sessions to discussions on the trade show floor — a common theme emerged: today’s utility challenges require collaboration. As infrastructure continues to evolve and customer expectations grow, partnerships between utilities, contractors, technology providers, and industry experts are more important than ever. 

Industry Conversations that Matter 

One of the defining features of the S.E.E. Conference is its educational program, which brings together utility leaders, peer-led case studies, and industry experts to share practical insights and best practices. This year’s sessions explored topics including grid modernization, system reliability, workforce development, safety, and emerging technologies transforming utility operations. 

For XKIG, the vegetation management sessions were especially meaningful. As utilities continue prioritizing reliability, wildfire mitigation, and resilient infrastructure, proactive vegetation management remains a critical component of long-term system performance. The discussions highlighted the growing importance of strategic planning, operational execution, and trusted partnerships in meeting today’s evolving industry demands. 

Beyond the classroom setting, the trade show featured more than 120 exhibitors showcasing technologies, equipment, products, and services supporting the electric utility industry, creating additional opportunities for attendees to exchange ideas, strengthen partnerships, and explore new approaches to today’s challenges. Throughout the week, representatives across XKIG’s portfolio of brands connected with utility leaders, customers, and industry partners to discuss many of the priorities shaping the industry — from reliability and resilience to workforce development and operational performance.
